  4. I read the book "All summer in a day" by Ray Bradbury, I'm curious to why they put the girl in the closet, and why the story takes place on the planet Venus?

  5. I read well actually watched the veldt, it is a very unique story. An example of theme is when the mom states how awful she thinks it is that the children are spending all their time with technology.

  6. I read "The Fog Horn" by Ray Bradbury. I was impressed how he used figurative language to express the depressed, lonely tone of the story. I found the story to be very beautiful and made me appreciate the life we live.

I watched “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury. The story was about a class of young children on the planet Venus. It rained every day non-stop on the planet. However, every couple of years the Sun would come out only for an hour. The story follows a young girl named Margo, who moved to Venus from Earth. She absolutely adores the Sun, and cannot wait to see its magnificent glow again. Unfortunately, some bullies in her class prevented her from witnessing the one thing she has been waiting for since her arrival.

  9. I read "A sound of Thunder."this story takes place in the dinosaur times.I think the theme of this story is that a little difference can have a big impact on future events. In the story Bradbury used figurative language,"The thunder grumbled like an old man" that is an example of personification from his story.

  10. I watched “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury. It is about on how a girl named Margo was born in earth but then moved to Venus when she hears that the sun is coming out from a certain of time she gets excited. A little boy gets la bit jealous of her and locks her up in the closet when the sun comes out Margo is sitting in the closet all upset and sad that she couldn't see the beautiful sun.Almost at the end the boy unlocks her. Margo goes out and starts crying because she didn't get to see the sun then everyone gives her all their flowers.
Also i saw the video of "the Veldt" from Ray Bradbury.I liked it; it was really interesting video i got surprised when the boy and girl lock up their parents in the mystery room.

  11. I watched the movie All Summer in a Day and it was sad because Margo's class put her in a closet because they were jealous of her seeing the sun and forgot she was in the closet and she didn't see the sun.

  12. I read "All Summer In A Day" by Ray Bradbury and I thought it was pretty cool how the setting was on mars. it was kind of cruel of the other kids to lock her in the closet. Even if they didn't like her they still shouldn't have done that.

  14. I watched AND read "The Veldt" by Ray Bradbury. Its about a family of four whose house is like a Siri and it has a nursery that displays your thoughts into a wall screen. The two children are spoiled by their "parents" and have much freedom than 10 year olds are supposed to have. One day, the mother went into the nursery with her husband and saw a life-like lion coming towards them. Terrified, they ran out of the nursery and locked the door.

I was surprised when the psychologist went into the nursery and saw the two children sipping tea in the nursery while the walls displayed Africa.

  15. I read Dark They Were and Golden Eyed. It was interesting and took place on Mars. I don't think what happened in the story would really happen that way.

  16. I watched the Veldt, it was a very weird story about two kids who loved their nursury and when their parents shut it down they freaked out.

  25. I read ''all summer in a day'' and i thought it was cool and funny that they pushed the the lady in the closet and also sad because the sun only comes out for so little time.

  26. it was actually really sad because it was going to be the girls chance to see the sun again but the kid locked her in the closet and i really don't understand why they moved to a horrible planet ?! are they from there what planet is it ?

  27. I think that "All Summer In A Day" was really sad when they put her in the closet because she was the one who believed the sun would come out. Bradburys stories show that sometimes things don't go the way you want them to.But the thing that i liked was when they gave her flowers in the end so they have something to remember the sun with for awhile.

  30. "I read/watched the veldt". When the mom decided to shut down the house because it was to real. This contributes to Ray Bradburys style because of the technology not being a good thing.

  31. I read "All Summer In a Day" and I thought it was a good story, but I'm still confused about why they lived on Venus and it was kind of mean of them to lock the girl in a closet. But, overall, it was an interesting story.

  32. I read "The Rocket Man" from "The Illustrated Man" which is about a man who goes into space for three months and only comes home to his family for three days. I think the meaning of the story is that you would like to be at one place doing one thing but you would also like to be doing something else at the same time.

  33. I read "All Summer In a Day" and I really enjoyed, but I did not like that they put the girl in a closest.

  34. I watched the short story the veldt and this story contributes to Ray Bradburys style because he is against technology and the parents shut down the technology in the house.

  36. I watched the film version of "The Veldt" and I thought it was creepy. I wish there was a modern one. It might be cooler to watch. The surprises that happened were kind of scary.

  37. I watched the story The Veldt and liked it because it is exactly like Ray Bradbury's style. The Veldt is all about how advancing technology to much can eventually turn on us and become a monster.

  39. I'm sorry I haven't commented until now and for any inconvenience, hopefully I can still get credit. Anyways, the short story I read over break, but never commented about was "All summer in a day". "All summer in a day" is about girl that came from earth and moved to Venus who's name is Margot. She is very different compared to all of her classmates, she remembers the sun clearly, something that none of the children remember because it rains 24/7 and the sun only comes out for about an hour every several years. The scientists predict that the sun will come out that day, and Margot shares this but no one believes her due to that she is too "weird" according to everyone. So a kid who bullies her and the rest of her classmates decide to pull a mean prank Margot, and so they lock her up in a closet making her lose her chance of finally seeing the sun after so long.

Ray Bradbury is they type of author who is very talented in the way he uses his words to turn them into images in your head and uses a lot of figurative language.

  41. I read 'All Summer in a Day' and i thought it was really sad, because the kids locked Margot in a closet when it was time to see the sun. Just because she was different and remembered it

  42. I read "all summer in a day" which is about a classroom full of children whom only see the sun once in seven years.

  43. Over break I retread "All Summer in a Day". I like this story because it shows the importance of being nice to people. But I also don't like how it just left me hanging in the end. Whether she gets apologized to or not or if the teacher ever finds out.
